These Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries are delicious!

I fell in love with Sweet Potato Fries when I was in a restaurant and ordered the “wrong” kinda fries. At first, I wanted to return them, but I was so hungry that I decided to eat them and wait for the rest of the menu. Well, they were delicious, and I ordered another portion!

After that day, I discovered a whole sweet potato world and decided to make them at home. Since I didn’t want to fry them, I popped them into the oven and let the heat do the work. Of course, I seasoned my fries and they turned out perfectly! Ever since that day, I’ve been making this recipe, it’s easy, the fries are crispy, and the seasoning works so well the sweetness of the potato. Try it out yourself and serve them as a side-dish or just treat yourself with these golden sticks!

>>Into the Sweet Potato madness? Then make these Sweet Potato Chickpea Burgers! They are super flavourful, crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Serve them on a bun with lettuce, grilled Halloumi slices and a Piccalli mayo and enjoy!

Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries

  • Prep: 10 min
  • Total: 30 min

  • Vegetables

Ingredients

NOTE: this recipe is for one person, double the quantities for more portions

- 1 sweet potato (cut into fries)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp Pimenton powder
- ¼ tsp chili powder (optional)
- salt & pepper to taste

For garnish:
- spring onions / parsley (finely chopped, optional)
- serve with your fave condiment (I like mayo, hummus or ketchup) or try my Jalapeños Mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200 C / 392 F. Then peel your sweet potato and cut it into wedges or French fries.

  2. Put the fries in a bowl and season with olive oil, garlic, Pimenton and chili powder.

  3. Then place the fries on a baking tray lined with baking sheet (try not to crowd them) and bake them for 15 minutes (turn the fries halfway cooking time) until they are tender and golden brown.

  4. Season with salt & pepper and serve with mayo, ketchup or hummus. I like to sprinkle some finely chopped spring onions over my fries but that’s optional!
